More threats from Ahmadinejad…
President Ahmadinejad of Iran yet again threatened annihilation of Israel and said that “the countdown to its destruction had already begun.“
Look, I’m Jewish and to hear the Jewish state threatened on a continuous basis by a UN member state and to have no punitive measures by the UN is just shocking. What’s even more shocking is that the world doesn’t raise an outcry. All around, anti-Semitism is exploding, something I would have never expected to happen in 2007. We thought that these barbarous hostilities and barbarous hatreds would somehow be purged from the human heart, but they’re not. In no less a civilized country such as England, the academic union voted to boycott Israeli academic institutions and that was followed by UNISON (a public worker’s union) to call for a boycott of Israel. Now, with Ahmadinejad not only threatening to destroy Israel but threatening to build nuclear arms, he must be stopped.
I was disappointed to hear in the Democratic debates yesterday that if push comes to shove they still would not use force when it came to Iran especially candidate Barrack Obama speaking over and over again about diplomacy. Yes, diplomacy has to be tried, no one is saying that. We all want peace.
If diplomacy is not effective, the United States will have to weigh and consider a military option and military strikes that will destroy Iran’s nuclear capability not only to defend the state of Israel, but because the greatest threat is what a nuclear armed Iran poses to the United States.
