An East Coast launch will take place in New York on the 10th of February, where This World’s Public Service Announcement campaign, encouraging American families to ‘Turn Friday Night into Family Night,’ will be announced. The launch will take the form of an intimate conversation over lunch with the press and This World supporters, discussing the ‘Friday Night’ initiative. Luncheon will take place on February 10, 2008, 1 PM to 3 PM EST at SOLO Restaurant, 550 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10022.

Attending the launch will be ‘Friday Night’ supporters including: Mayor Cory Booker of Newark, New Jersey, Alan Colmes of FOX News, Bestselling Author and Radio Host, Lisa Oz, Professional Boxing Champion, Dmitry Salita, and Rabbi Shmuley Boteach.

The National PSA campaign, to air on the Discovery Networks, will feature: Dr. Mehmet Oz, Mayor Cory Booker, Josie Bissett, Rachel Hunter, Marianne Williamson, Doris Roberts, Los Angles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and many others.

Rabbi Shmuley explains the purpose of the initiative: “Family dinners are the centerpiece of a healthy family life. It is essential that children be given, at the very least, a single night a week where they can connect with their parents, unwind from the week, and create an intimate and warm family atmosphere. We suggest Friday night because it’s the beginning of the weekend and sets the tone for intimacy together as a family.”
